Beef mince is one of the cheapest meats to buy in your local supermarket. When regular burgers, meatballs and Spaghetti Bolognese get boring, try this delicious twist on a burger. Make sure you buy the leanest possible beef mince - it's healthier and tastes better. For the breadcrumbs use any old slice of toast or bred you have leftover. No sense in buying breadcrumbs from the shop! And this is 1 of your 5-a-day...in a burger!
50 g breadcrumbs
1 onion, finely chopped
75 g pickeld beetroot, finely chopped
250 g lean beef mince
1 beaten egg
salt and black pepper
1 tbsp vegetable oil
Finely chop the onion and beetroot.
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl.
With your hands form the burger mixture into burgers the size of your palm.
Fry them on a hot frying pan with vegetable oil, until fully cooked.
Spice it up!
Add some finely chopped capers to the burger mixture to make it even tastier.
