Mushroom Bruschetta £1.00 / £0.50 per serving (V)

If you're cooking a three course meal, choose an easy starter and a make ahead dessert. Combine this tasty starter with Pasta all'Amatriciana and Chocolate Dessert Pots to make an impressive but hassle free three course meal.

a few slices of bread (stale loaf goes well with this)
10 mushrooms (any ones you fancy)
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 tsp dried herbs
1 tbsp olive oil
salt and black pepper
  1. Wash and slice the mushrooms. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan and fry the mushrooms with the crushed garlic, until browned and soft. The mushrooms loose quite a lot of liquid when frying, so don't worry about that!
  2. Season with dried herbs, salt and black pepper.
  3. Toast the slices of bread and assemble the mushrooms on top et vóila!
